Health Systems

bullet Exploring A Regional Health Safety Net

This project was sponsored by the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati.  Prodev Associates compiled all the data for this study, from the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the Bureau of Health Professions (within the Health Resources Administration, the National Center for Health Manpower and the Center for Evaluative Clinical Sciences at Dartmouth University.

These data were combined in a kind of "mosaic" of indicators that represent a complex network of relationships in health delivery and utilization. The full document and a "lite" version organized as the PowerPoint presentation is available on the documents page --

The final formatting of the "chart book" is the work of staff at the Health Foundation.  This full version will become available soon.

bullet Identifying Hospital Market Areas via Patient Origin Studies

This map represents an effort to define patients, and therefore physicians that are served by a network of hospitals in North Central Indiana. Their patients extend over counties in both Indiana and Michigan. Patient densities are computed by zip code transaction areas (ZCTAs).

Economic Development Planning

bullet Regions, Regions, Regions...

Economic Development is a regional affair. Planning revolves around stakeholders representing industry, labor, education, communities and state and local government.  But if regions differ by planning organizations and over time - who should be meeting with whom?  Tracking regional change and measures of economic growth by region helps collaborations to stay on track.

This document presents a sample of different regional frameworks in Indiana - showing jurisdictions for different governance systems, or locations of administrative offices.
